Movavi Screen Capture Studio 9 review – A powerful and simple to use screen capture software for screencasting and more.
Our Review
Movavi screen capture studio has all tools you need for capturing video from your desktop, edit and share it directly to YouTube. The program comes with an intuitive user interface and easy to navigate capturing tools. It is also very easy to access more settings from the toolbar. Although Movavi Screen Capture Studio does not provide real-time drawing tools for adding annotations during video recording, it offers a built-in video editor where you can add effects, texts, cut, trim, crop video and doing many thing more before exporting your video into popular formats.
Movavi Screen Capture Studio is a commercial product which means it does not have free version for personal usage. You can only try the software within 7 days with 2 minutes video recording limitation and a watermark.
Pricing plan and where to download
Once you are satisfied with the app, you can purchase a license at $59.95 for full version/personal. The package includes both screen recorder & video editor. There are different versions for Windows and Mac. Don’t bother to read carefully system requirements before you go. They have the same price.

Capturing Tools
Movavi screen capture studio’s capturing tools give you the possibility to capture full screen or customized region easily. You can choose special video size on the toolbar or drag-n-drop capturing frame to get the size you need. Added to that, the app also let you capture multiple displays in full high definition quality. For tutorial video creators, you can choose to show cursor on recording or highlight cursor in specific colors and more.
Maximum frame rate is 60 and there are some options to speed up video conversion and enable hardware acceleration. Honestly, I have not checked this function to make sure if it works any better or not.
During the recording, you can use hotkey to take screenshot by using its default F8 hotkey. That’s clear and simple.
There is nothing much to say about capture time and sharing option. The program allows you to set the time to begin and end the recording. There is only 1 option to share video – to YouTube via your logged in account.
Video editing tools
After finish recording video, you’ll have two options: Save As.. or Open in Editor. Choose open in editor to get access to its video editor where you have many more tools for editing video. In brief, you can cut, trim, crop video, add effects, transitions, texts, adjust audio and export your video into various formats.
If you want to know more about its built-in video editor, I suggest you jump to our review of Movavi video editor here. That’s a super-cool video editor for beginners.
There are lots of output options for you to choose after finish editing process. See an example here.

Technical support & Online tutorial
The company provides rather good technical support and useful how-to videos on their YouTube channel. If you want to figure out a new feature, search on YouTube.
Bottom line
So you have our brief review about Movavi Screen Capture Studio. It is intuitive and simple to use recording software with built-in video editor for Windows and Mac. But, honestly, I expect them to extend trial period to 30 days as many other publishers do to give you enough time for evaluating the program. Anyway, it’s great to use. Go for it!
